Can I keep my current POS when I switch processors?

Often, yes. Many POS systems can be reprogrammed to a new processor, so you may be able to keep your hardware and just change who processes your payments. Velocity will tell you honestly whether keeping your system or switching makes more sense.

Switching processors doesn't always mean buying new hardware. Depending on your system, there are usually two paths.

Reprogram what you have. Many terminals and POS systems can be re-pointed to a new processor, letting you keep your equipment and workflow while lowering your rate. Upgrade intentionally. Sometimes newer hardware pays for itself through lower fees, better reliability, or features you're missing.

The honest answer depends on your exact make and model. Velocity reviews what you have and recommends the path that actually benefits you — not the one that sells the most hardware.
